BISWorld's human-verified data points on thousands of industries will sit alongside the news, filings and transcripts already on the platform, so customers and their AI agents can read a company's latest developments against the industry it actually operates in.

We're partnering with IBISWorld to bring its industry research to Bigdata.com. IBISWorld's human-verified data points on thousands of industries will sit alongside the news, filings and transcripts already on the platform, so customers and their AI agents can read a company's latest developments against the industry it actually operates in.

This partnership starts from a familiar challenge in company research. A news story says a manufacturer missed its quarterly targets. A filing mentions rising input costs. An earnings call hints at softer demand. Each of these is useful on its own, but the harder question is usually whether the company has a problem or its whole industry does. Answering that means knowing how big the market is, how fast it has been growing, how margins normally look and what analysts expect over the next few years. Analysts have traditionally pieced that together by hand from separate sources. IBISWorld has spent more than five decades building exactly that baseline, and today it maintains more than 10 million human-verified data points, each one checked by an industry analyst.

On Bigdata.com, this will come together in one place. An agent monitoring a portfolio company will be able to flag a story about falling sales and check it against IBISWorld's revenue trends and five-year outlook for that sector. A credit team reviewing a borrower will be able to compare the cost structure described in the company's filings with IBISWorld's benchmarks for its industry. Someone preparing for a client meeting will be able to start from IBISWorld's view of the competitive landscape and then pull the most recent news on each of the major players.

"AI agents are only as useful as the context they’re working with. IBISWorld gives AI agents a trusted view of how an industry is really doing, from market size and margins to competitors and the outlook. So when something happens at a company, they can tell whether it's a genuine warning sign or just part of a wider trend. That's the kind of judgment analysts need to be able to rely on," said Kevin Crosbie, Chief Data Officer at Bigdata.com.

"We've always believed industry research is most valuable when it's part of the work, not something people have to go looking for. Partnering with Bigdata.com will bring our analysts' work into the research workflows of a wider group of investors and analysts," said Neil Richards, VP of Partnerships at IBISWorld.

The IBISWorld content on Bigdata.com will include human-verified data points on market size, revenue, profitability and employment across more than 50,000 industry titles, along with competitive landscape analysis, cost structure benchmarks, key external drivers and five-year forecasts. Coverage will span the US, Canada, the UK, Europe, China and other Aian markets, Australia and many others.

Founded in 1971, IBISWorld provides human-verified data points and analysis on thousands of industries. Banks, consulting and accounting firms, investors, government agencies and corporates use its research to size markets, benchmark performance and plan ahead.
