Bringing context and clarity to financial research

Dan Benitez, our VP of Product, shares Bigdata.com’s journey to unify financial data and AI, delivering instant, big-picture insights for analysts.
Since launching Bigdata.com, our mission has been simple but ambitious: empower firms to synthesize structured and unstructured data to drive deeper, faster, and more confident financial decisions.
In the early days, that meant treating each dataset in isolation - giving users powerful tools to analyze individual sources like pricing, sentiment, transcripts, and filings on their own. This worked well for answering targeted questions quickly, but it didn’t address a more complex and valuable need we kept hearing from users:
“Can I just ask a big-picture question and have the system do the digging for me?”
Take a question like: “Analyze AMD’s financial performance over the last two years and how the analyst community reacted to it - and compare that to Nvidia.” Answering that used to require multiple queries, fragmented steps, and piecing together results manually.
Now? You ask once. Our agent handles the rest - identifying the relevant datasets, querying each one, and weaving the findings together into a cohesive, insightful response.
This leap forward is powered by three core tenants of our platform:
- Comprehensive financial data coverage, spanning both unstructured and structured domains. From global and premium news, press releases, web content, filings, transcripts, and expert networks, to fundamentals, estimates, earnings calendars, and more - Bigdata delivers the breadth and depth of information analysts need, vetted and maintained for quality and reliability.
- Our domain-specific knowledge graph, developed over the past 20 years, connects those diverse datasets by linking thousands of financial entities, events, and concepts. It transforms raw data into context—enabling precise cross-dataset retrieval, surfacing relationships others miss, and minimizing hallucinations by grounding every answer in an interconnected view of the market.
- Our new agentic interface, currently in alpha, brings the knowledge graph to life. Today, that means a UI where users can ask high-level research questions and get rich, multi-source answers that used to require multiple steps. Soon, it will extend into an API, giving developers direct access to the same analyst-like intelligence. Under the hood, it’s powered by our state-of-the-art retrieval infrastructure (see how we architected Bigdata.com Search), ensuring every response is both comprehensive and precise. It’s still evolving, but it marks a clear shift toward a future where using Bigdata feels more like working with a research analyst than querying a tool.
And the benefits of this unified, intelligent approach go beyond chat. We’ve extended it into our Watchlist Experience, where many users begin their day.
Users told us, “Pricing is helpful - but give me more. Help me understand why sentiment is shifting.” So we did.
Now, with a click, you can launch a “Deep Dive” into any watchlist constituent - surfacing the full range of structured data that’s shaping sentiment, outlooks, analyst tone, and more. From fundamentals and estimates to revisions, surprises, valuation trends, and beyond, Bigdata connects the dots automatically - so you don’t have to.
All of this is shaped by hundreds of conversations with users and learnings from our first few months in the market. We're incredibly excited about what’s ahead. This is more than just a product update - it’s a meaningful leap forward in how financial research gets done.
We’re making it easier than ever to unify thousands of data points, from countless sources, into a single platform that works the way analysts think.
