Building the future of financial intelligence one release at a time: our 2025 journey

We entered 2025 with a strong vision and the flexibility to adapt. That journey led us to an API-first approach, focused on meeting users where they work.

As I reflect on 2025, I'm incredibly proud of what we've accomplished at Bigdata.com. This year marked a fundamental shift in how financial professionals interact with data and intelligence, moving from static tools to truly agentic AI experiences that work alongside you, 24/7. But it also marked an important evolution in how we go to market, one shaped by listening carefully to our users and the broader industry.

We started the year focused on product-led growth, building beautiful consumer experiences for individual analysts and investors. What we learned was invaluable: our users loved the technology, but they needed us to meet them where they work - inside their existing workflows, integrated with their tools, and available to their entire teams throughout the enterprise. That insight led us to double down on our API-first approach, focusing on empowering developers and enterprise teams to build with Bigdata to augment their own platforms and processes.

This user centric thinking also led us to our investment in MCP. Our first iteration over the summer was crude but we learned and validated a ton. Rather than asking users to come to us, we're now bringing Bigdata's financial intelligence directly into the AI tools they already use: Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot. It's been a humbling and energizing journey of adaptation.

The agentic AI platform launch

In April, we launched our flagship agentic AI platform, built around a simple premise: what if your investment research never stopped, even when you did?

We introduced four core experiences that have transformed how our users work:

Watchlists became more than just tickers on a screen. We created personalized portfolio tracking with real-time updates on prices, sentiment, and news - all accessible through natural conversation. And because investing is a team sport, we built in collaboration features so your entire team can stay aligned.

Briefs put an AI agent to work analyzing over thousands of global news sources, delivering tailored, real-time updates on the securities and themes that matter most to you. No more drinking from the firehose, just the signal you need.

Workflows tackled the research tasks you do repeatedly. Whether it's earnings reports, company deep dives, or sector summaries, we built pre-configured templates so you can focus on insights, not busywork.

Chat brought it all together: a way to converse naturally with trusted financial data, with your watchlists always at your fingertips.

Making everything interactive

But we didn't stop there. Throughout the year, we kept asking: how do we make these experiences even more powerful?

We transformed Watchlists into interactive dashboards. Now when you spot an earnings surprise or sentiment spike, you can click right through to understand the context and drivers - no more jumping between tools.

We made Briefs conversational. See a headline that catches your eye? Just ask a follow-up question and dig deeper, right from your personalized market snapshot.

We introduced Conversational Documents, letting you upload your internal PDFs, slides, and spreadsheets and actually talk to them. Your proprietary research just became instantly searchable and analyzable.

And for those complex questions that require serious horsepower, we overhauled our original chat with Deep Research - an agentic research experience that synthesizes intelligence from financials, earnings, filings, transcripts, and premium news sources into comprehensive reports.

The data-first imperative and the power of partnerships

Great platforms are built on great data and if you haven't read our data-first manifesto, I strongly encourage you to do it. This year, we expanded our offering with 14 new data packages, partnering with industry leaders including Preqin, Quartr, FT, and S&P. We also pushed into new territory with innovative datasets like podcasts from Podchaser and expert interviews from Knowledge Ridge.

To make discovery easier, we launched the Bigdata Store: a central hub where you can explore all available and upcoming packages, filter by category, and understand exactly how each dataset can help you.

One partnerships stand out as particularly transformative:

Our Financial Times integration in December (coupled with a strategic investment from their part) brought FT's world-class journalism directly into our research assistant and API. Enterprise clients with FT Professional licenses can now build AI agents powered by FT's global markets coverage, with access to a live feed plus a historical archive of over 500,000 documents dating back to 2012.

Build with Bigdata

"Build with Bigdata" isn't just a tagline, it's a commitment. In late August, we launched platform.bigdata.com, a complete developer experience with REST APIs and intuitive playgrounds. We also released Remote MCP with Model Context Protocol integration for access to Bigdata Search for querying our entire data universe and Bigdata Docs for guides and code snippets. Recently, we upgraded this with enhanced tooling that integrates seamlessly with Claude, ChatGPT, and Copilot.

For teams building custom research experiences, we created Search & Research Agent APIs with precision filtering, source grounding, and full event tracking. And to help you hit the ground running, we published 20 GitHub cookbooks showing exactly how to integrate with other models including ready-to-use workflows like Watchlist Manager, Thematic Screener, and Risk Analyzer.

Building trust through security

As AI becomes more powerful, security becomes more critical. I'm proud that we achieved ISO 27001 certification this year, with fully encrypted data pipelines and role-based access controls that meet the most stringent enterprise compliance requirements.

Looking ahead

The most exciting part? We're just getting started. As I look at what we've built in 2025, from agentic AI experiences to world-class data partnerships to developer tools that put our platform in your hands, I see a foundation for something much bigger.

The future of financial intelligence isn't about choosing between human insight and AI capability. It's about building systems where both work together, seamlessly. Where the AI handles the grunt work and surfaces the insights, so you can focus on what you do best: making smart decisions.

Thank you to our incredible team, our partners, and most of all, to our users who push us every day to build better tools for the future of finance.

Here's to 2026.
